Fuerzas de la Marina de Dinamarca han liberado frente a las costas de Somalia a 14 pescadores iraníes y paquistaníes que se encontraban en poder de un grupo de piratas, según informó hoy en Copenhague un portavoz militar.

Precisó que durante la operación para liberar a los rehenes, los militares daneses procedentes del buque de guerra "Absalon" detuvieron además a un total de 25 presuntos piratas, sin que llegara a producirse herido alguno, indicó Efe.

La Marina danesa destacó que los rehenes iraníes y paquistaníes, miembros de la tripulación del buque pesquero, se encontraban en poder de sus captores desde hace varios meses.

El portavoz explicó que todos ellos se encuentran bien dadas las circunstancias, aunque fueron maltratados durante el tiempo que estuvieron en manos de los piratas.

Esta misma semana fuerzas navales estadounidenses liberaron en las costas del estrecho de Ormuz a otra tripulación de 13 pescadores iraníes que secuestrados hace varias semanas por piratas somalís.

An unidentified boat was observed approaching a tanker underway at high speed. Master sounded the siren, increased speed, commenced evasive manoeuvres and deployed fire hoses. The boat had 5 persons on board. It reduced speed, passed along the ship's port side at a distance of 10-15 metres and stopped 100 metres astern of the tanker. Another boat was seen approaching and it stopped next to the first boat. Master continued at increased speed and monitored the two boats until the boats were at a safe distance astern from the tanker.

OOW onboard a drifting tanker noticed on radar a small boat approaching from a distance of 8nm. When the boat reached 4nm, the OOW made several attempts to contact the boat but received no response. He immediately informed the Master. Attempts to raise the boat by VHF and ship horn were not successful. When the boat was 2nm off, Master ordered main engines to be started. The suspicious boat followed for a while and then stopped. The boat was about 30 meters length and looked very old and rusty. No fishing gear was visible.

The suspicious boat tried to follow the ship but later stopped as the ships speed increased. The description of the boat was similar to the one reported by a drifting tanker. The tanker had reported around 30 uniformed persons with machine guns in the boat.

During this time the Master and 2nd engineer were also hit by the robbers. Port control was contacted but received no response. At the time of the incident the vessel was undergoing STS operations and had to remove the razor wire to enable smooth operations. The robbers took advantage of this and gained access to the vessel.

All the robbers left the tanker at 0330lt. Port control was called again but there was still no answer.

Ten robbers armed with guns approached an anchored tanker in a launch. They attempted to board the tanker using a hook attached with a rope. Alert crew raised the alarm. Master sent MAYDAY message via VHF and informed Cotonou signal station and the navy. The robbers aborted the attempted attack upon seeing the crew alertness. Then at 0330 LT on 7th July, the same robbers approached the vessel looking for a way to board. Once again crew alertness and firing of parachue flares resulted in the robbers moving

The pirates chased the tanker for around one hour before aborting the attack. Local authorities informed. No action taken.

Estaba pensando en la operacion de la Policia Nacional española sobre las academias que ofrecieron titulos falsos y los cien detenidos ( uno de ellos navegaba en aguas de Somalia) y a resultas de la gente que cree estar por encima de la Ley, me pregunto ¿que pasaria si la policia en vez de ir contra los trabajadores (delincuentes desde luego) fuera contra las empresas? ¿y que pasaria si los que defraudan a Hacienda fueran una empresa grande?

Los seis piratas detenidos tras atacar e intentar abordar el buque de la Armada Patiño serán finalmente juzgados por la Audiencia Nacional. La justicia española los ha reclamado a pesar de los informes de los servicios de inteligencia, que desaconsejaban su traslado a España.



Mohamed Abdullah Hassan, Mohamed Aden Mohamed, Issa Abdullaj Issa, Abdillahi Mohamed Gouled, Hamoud Elfaf Mahou y Mohamed Said Ahmed, los seis piratas detenidos, viajarán próximamente a España para enfrentarse a los cargos de piratería en grado de tentativa, depósito de armas, daños y atentado contra agentes de la autoridad en el ejercicio de sus funciones.

Tras analizar toda la documentación y valorar todas las opciones, el magistrado de la Audiencia Nacional Eloy Velasco ha ordenado el traslado de los tres piratas a España. Sin embargo, tal y como acaba de saber El Confidencial Digital, desde los organismos de seguridad del Estado se recomendó no hacerlo.

En concreto, ateniéndose a la información suministrada a ECD por fuentes de los servicios de inteligencia, se desaconsejó esta opción debido a las complicaciones futuras que podría suponer para España. Y sobre todo, por el hecho de que dos mujeres españolas permanecen secuestradas en Somalia por un grupo terrorista, Al Shabaab, con probados vínculos con los piratas.

“España no debió meterse en este ‘fregado’. Es una batalla inútil” valoran para ECD las fuentes consultadas. Y añaden que este mismo argumento circuló por la sede de la Audiencia mientras se ponderaba qué hacer con losseis detenidos.

El problema, especifican, surgió cuando se iniciaron los trámites para entregar a los detenidos a algún gobierno de la zona. Kenia, país con el que la UE mantenía un convenio, ya no acepta más piratas. Y Seychelles, que hasta ahora aceptaba “acuerdos puntuales”, ha rechazado hacerse cargo del asunto.

“Ante este panorama, las únicas opciones que le quedaban al Gobierno eran traerlos a España, con el riesgo que conlleva, o llevarlos hasta la costa y dejarlos en libertad” informan las fuentes consultadas.

Mas carnaza para la audiencia Nacional ( juicio inútil y ademas costoso). Parece que el CNI vuelve a perder la oportunidad de negociar con secuestros, quizás porque no tienen las capacidades....

Los piratas somalíes han liberado a los 18 tripulantes de un carguero químico con bandera maltesa después del pago de un rescate de poco más de tres millones de euros, según informaron fuentes de la seguridad marítima. Según el antiguo responsable de seguridad marítima regional y actual director del diario digital 'Somalia Report', Andrew Mwangura, la tripulación, quince georgianos y tres turcos, navega hacia el puerto de Mombasa, en Kenia, en un remolcador, mientras que el carguero, el 'MV Olib G', ha sido abandonado en las costas somalíes. El barco, propiedad griega, había sido secuestrado en el Golfo de Adén, según Mwangura.

PILAR PIÑEIRO - VIGO Solo unos meses después de haberle dado luz verde a la propuesta española, el gobierno de la República de Seychelles rechaza ahora el embarque de armamento pesado a bordo de la flota atunera española que faena en el Indico como protección contra la piratería. Así lo señalaron a este diario fuentes del sector y confirmó Julio Morón, responsable de Opagac, una de las asociaciones de armadores que agrupan a esta flota, que había demandado el embarque de tal armamento para aumentar la seguridad de su actividad en la zona. Mientras, desde la otra gran asociación de armadores del sector atunero, Anabac, su responsable, Juan Pablo Rodríguez, señaló sobre el cambio de postura de Seychelles sobre la petición española de embarcar armamento de calibre 7,62 milímetros a 12,70 milímetros que "será que no estaba tan cerrado". Rodríguez apunta que para el sector es importante y urgente en este momento un encuentro con los nuevos responsables de Defensa para analizar la situación de la seguridad en el Índico y, el asunto del armamento, será uno de los previstos para abordar.
El embarque de armamento de mayor calibre que el que en la actualidad emplean los agentes de seguridad privada que acompañana a todos los barcos de bandera española había sido planteado y preacordado durante la visita que el pasado mes de julio realizó al archipiélago africano la exministra de Defensa, Carme Chacón. Posteriormente, en septiembre, delegaciones de España y Seychelles se reunieron para abordar esta cuestión y en el encuentro el gobierno africano, según el español, había dado su visto bueno a este embarque de este armamento.
Durante su visita a Seychelles, Chacón –que viajó acompañada por armadores de los atuneros– expuso a las autoridades del país que el armamento de mayor calibre se consideraba"más conveniente para la misión de los vigilantes de seguridad" embarcados en los pesqueros al entender que el "modus operandi" de los piratas ha cambiado y que, por ello, se deben actualizar los mecanismos para hacerles frente.
Tras la aceptación de la p`ropuesta española en septiembre –como comunicó entonces Defensa– ambos países se comprometieron a intercambiar en los meses siguientes propuestas para un protocolo en el que establecer las condiciones y requisitos para que hacer efectivo el embarque de armas pesadas y que ahora parece haberse frustrado.
Defensa incluso había puesto a disposición de Seychelles su experiencia en la lucha contra la piratería y su apoyo en adiestramiento en seguridad y formación del servicio de búsqueda y salvamento marítimo. Asimismo, ofreció al país africano un servicio de asistencia médica a distancia, con la instalación de una unidad permanente de telemedicina en la red sanitaria de Seychelles, en contacto con el Hospital Gómez Ulla,que permitiría, según señaló entonces el Gobierno español,extender la asistencia sanitaria especializada a los pescadores españoles que trabajan en el Índico.
Tras el reciente rechazo al acuerdo por parte del gobierno de Seychelles –"han dicho que tururú", resumía Morón–, no cofirmado por el actual equipo de Defensa, la flota asegura desconocer las causas de la negativa a un embarque en el que seguirán insistiendo ante el nuevo gobierno porque se considera que mejorará las condiciones de seguridad en los atuneros ante el constante acoso de los grupos de piratas somalíes.

Esta vez la Marina Española les dio lo suyo.

A las 3.30 de ayer, un esquife pirata se aproximó por la popa al Buque de Aprovisionamiento para el Combate (BAC) Patiño, a unas 50 millas de la capital somalí, Mogadiscio. Se trata del barco de mando de la Fuerza Naval Europea (EUNAVFOR) que lucha contra la piratería en el Índico. A bordo va su actual comandante, el capitán de navío español Jorge Manso Revilla. Pero en la oscuridad los piratas lo confunden con un carguero. No es la primera vez que ocurre. En octubre de 2009, los piratas se encontraron con la sorpresa de que su presa aparentemente indefensa era en realidad el buque de reabastecimiento de la Armada francesa La Somme, y lo mismo les sucedió con una fragata alemana.

Cuando el esquife se acerca al Patiño, los infantes de Marina hacen disparos de advertencia para obligarles a alejarse, según fuentes militares. Los piratas responden abriendo fuego con sus fusiles AK-47. Más de diez proyectiles impactan en el casco y la chimenea del buque de guerra español. Algunas balas pasan muy cerca de los militares españoles pero ninguno resulta herido. Desde el Patiño se responde a los atacantes con ráfagas de ametralladora ligera MG de 7,62 milímetros. El buque de guerra empieza a girar y muestra sus 166 metros de eslora y 17.000 toneladas. Demasiado tarde, los piratas se dan cuenta de su error y emprenden la fuga.

El helicóptero embarcado en el Patiño sale en su persecución y observa cómo los ocupantes del esquife lanzan al mar bultos, armas y una escala, que utilizan para abordar a los buques que quieren secuestrar. Tras ordenarles por megafonía que se detengan y disparar junto a la embarcación, esta se detiene por fin. A bordo van seis hombres. Hay mar gruesa y la maniobra es peligrosa, pero algunos parecen heridos y el comandante del Patiño ordena subirlos a bordo. Tres de los piratas son atendidos por los médicos del hospital Role 2 con el que va dotado el buque. Dos de ellos presentan heridas en las piernas y otro una brecha en la cabeza. El más grave es intervenido quirúrgicamente de un balazo en el tobillo.
