“Blackwater offers paid and un-paid internship opportunities for students in post-secondary education programs. Blackwater interns are selected based on language and computer skill, work experience, knowledge of Blackwater’s project areas, academic performance, and enthusiasm for Blackwater’s vision to support security, peace, freedom, and democracy”.
For un-paid interns, Blackwater Human Resources will complete any evaluations or paperwork necessary to receive credit for their experiences at Blackwater. Alternatively, paid interns will be compensated at an hourly rate and will not be eligible for benefits.
We have the following internships available:
IT Intern: The IT intern will gain hands-on experience with networking, trouble-shooting, web development, and network security. Will also research design issues to include emerging technologies and their adaptation to the company to include cost benefit analysis. Open to Third or Fourth year undergrads pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field.
Training Intern: The training program is looking for two intern to assist with entering training content into our computer based learning program. Interns will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data entered. Interns may also be requested to assist in researching and developing curriculum. Open to Third or Fourth year undergrads pursing a degree in Adult Education, Public Safety, Political Science, or a related field.
OSU Intern: The OSU intern will work on various projects with the goal to learn about and train in ISO-9001-2000 and/or quality improvement as it relates to a Human Resources operations and administration, in particular recruitment, vetting, and retention. Open to Third or Fourth year undergrads pursing a degree in Communications, Business, Psychology, or Human Resources.
Airships Intern: The intern would be directly involved in the flight testing side of the airship project, which would be a unique opportunity and excellent experience for an engineering student. The intern would be “pushed in at the deep end” – becoming involved in the stress and pressure of getting an airship into the air. He/she would be involved in preparing flight test plans, calibrating test instrumentation, and in discussions with the pilot, engineers and mechanics. The intern would also participate in post-flight debriefs, data analysis and report writing. Open to Grad students pursing a degree in Aeronautical engineering, preferably structures or aerodynamics.
Location: Internships will be primarily located in Moyock, NC
